What to know

  • Word error rates on clean conversational Khmer are now low enough for search and indexing.
  • Not yet low enough for unattended transcription.
  • Both open models run on commodity hardware.

We tested both open Khmer speech models against a set of our own support calls. Word error rates on clean audio are now low enough for search and indexing, though not yet for unattended transcription.
