Docker Basic - With AWS EC2 Container Service



To getting started with installing and running Docker which leverages Docker containers to enable IT operations teams and Development teams to build, ship and run any application, anywhere


What we expect in this Getting Started DCK002:

  1. Researching skills on new technology

  2. Understanding what is AWS? EC2? EC2 Container Service?

  3. Understanding of how to use docker with openshift




What you will do in this Getting Started DCK002:

  1. Learn to install and use docker (same from DCK001)

    1. Install docker from:

    2. Start service docker and check if it is running

  2. Learn to use EC2 Container Service origin:

    1. Check what is AWS?

    2. Check what is EC2?

    3. Check what is EC2 Container Service?

    4. Setup EC2 Container Service

      1. Setup in AWS

      2. In screenshot, you can use my credential without having to create AWS account or EC2

  1. Install awscli to your ubuntu: apt-get install awscli

  2. Configure your AWS credential: aws configure

    1. Access Key ID: XXXX

    2. AWS Secret Access Key: XXXXX

  3. Run command line login to EC2 Container Service repository: aws ecr get-login --no-include-email --region ap-southeast-1

  4. Run the command response from that earlier command.

  1. Start running your build: docker build -t ocr-test-2 .

  2. After the build completes, tag your image so you can push the image to this repository: docker tag ocr-test-2:latest

  3. Run the following command to push this image to your newly created AWS repository: docker push

  4. More after we finish the first step:
